After seasons dominated by barely-there frames and ’90s minimalism, oversized sunglasses have emerged as one of the defining accessories of the Spring/Summer 2026 runway. This season, they have moved past sun protection and into a styling tool that can change the entire mood of an outfit.
From Balenciaga’s bug-eye butterfly-shaped frames, which have been spotted on celebrities like Rihanna and Rosalía, to Céline’s oversized rounded designs, the trend is heading towards bolder coverage. Chloé has introduced softer, more cinematic styles, while Fendi has explored sculptural, futuristic-inspired frames with sharper structure. With these variations appearing across major runways, here are five oversized sunglasses styles you can incorporate into your wardrobe.
Bug-Eye Sunglasses

Bug-eye sunglasses are one of the most dramatic styles seen across the Spring/Summer 2026 runways. Characterized by their oversized, butterfly-like shape, they extend from above the brow line down toward the cheekbones, creating a face-covering effect that calls attention.
