Meghan Markle marked Princess Lilibet’s fifth birthday on June 4 with a social media post that offered a rare, carefully selected glimpse into her family life in Montecito.

The Instagram post was captioned, “Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili,” followed by a white heart emoji, and featured two previously unseen photographs.

In the first image, Prince Harry is seen holding Lilibet while Meghan stands close by, watching the moment unfold. The second image shows Lilibet standing barefoot in a garden at the family’s home, dressed in a light summer outfit as she interacts with flowers.

Lilibet Diana was born on June 4, 2021, in Santa Barbara, California. She is the younger child of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and the sister of Prince Archie. Her name carries personal family significance, referencing Queen Elizabeth II’s childhood nickname “Lilibet” and honouring Princess Diana through her middle name.

The birthday post follows the couple’s established approach to sharing their children’s milestones, with images chosen selectively and full public appearances avoided. Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California, Meghan and Harry have maintained a private family life in Montecito, sharing only occasional updates that mark birthdays and notable family occasions.

Idris Elba received a knighthood from King Charles during an investiture ceremony on June 2. The recognition was awarded for his services to young people, following its announcement in the New Year Honors list.

The royal family shared a photo from the moment on their official Instagram page shortly after, with a caption “Congratulations to everyone who received honors at today’s Investiture ceremonies, hosted by The King at Windsor Castle.”

Elba reposted on his Instagram Stories writing “We are thankful. The work continues.”

Sir Idris is known for his roles in The Wire and Luther, and has built a career across film, television, and music. He has also been actively involved in projects focused on supporting and empowering young people.

In 2022, he co-founded the Elba Hope Foundation alongside his wife, Sabrina Elba. The organization focuses on community empowerment and creating opportunities for underserved communities.

In an interview with People magazine, Elba spoke about the New Year Honors list; “I haven’t really spoken about it, but I will say that it’s a real honor to be recognized for the work, especially trying to make as much noise for young people and the things that some of them are going through. So it feels like an honor. My family is honored by it. I don’t even know how to talk about it.” He said.

The actor previously received a grant from The King’s Trust, which allowed him to attend the National Youth Music Theatre at the age of 18.

Idris Elba was not the only one honored at the ceremony. Olympic champions Dame Jayne Torvill and Sir Christopher Dean also received a damehood and knighthood for their services to ice skating and voluntary work.

Actress and comedian Dame Meera Syal was also recognised for her contributions to literature, drama, and charity.

The oldest of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six children has reportedly filed paperwork to be known simply as Maddox Jolie. According to TMZ, the 24-year-old has filed legal paperwork to remove “Pitt” from his surname. If approved by a judge, he would legally be known as Maddox Chivan Jolie.

Representatives for Brad Pitt have declined to comment, and there has been no response from Angelina Jolie’s team.

This isn’t the first time Maddox has moved away from the Jolie-Pitt surname. When he served as an assistant director on Angelina Jolie’s 2025 film Couture, he was credited as Maddox Jolie. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and later opened in theaters across France. The change differed from 2024, when he served as a production assistant on the biopic Maria and appeared in the credits as Maddox Jolie-Pitt.

Maddox is the eldest of the six children shared by Jolie and Pitt. Their separation began in 2016, with the divorce not finalized until 2024. Maddox’s siblings, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne have also taken steps away from the Pitt name. In 2024, Vivienne used “Vivienne Jolie” for her work on the Broadway show “The Outsiders,” which Angelina produced. The same year Zahara introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie at a Spelman College sorority event, and she did it again at her graduation in 2026, then there is Shiloh, who dropped “Pitt” entirely after she filed for a name change on her 18th birthday. The court approved it, so now she is Shiloh Jolie.
