Front-Row Stars at Chanel during Paris Couture Week
Day two of Paris Haute Couture Week continued as the Grand Palais was transformed into a garden-inspired set, decorated with large mushrooms, delicate floral installations, and controlled lighting effects, marking a clear departure from the designer’s recent subway show.
The designer Matthieu Blazy presented his first haute couture for the house. “Haute Couture is the very soul of Chanel. It is the foundation and the full expression of the House,” Blazy wrote in his show notes. Beyond the stage décor, the front row gathered some of the influential figures in music, film, and fashion. For the occasion, many of the stars wore outfits from Blazy’s previous two collections.

Dua Lipa arrived in an outfit from the collection, wearing a neon-yellow two-piece set topped with orange-trimmed cropped edges. She carried a matching bag with two-toned heels. Abrams chose a lemon fringe jacket with plain nude trousers.

David Beckham Using Giant Birkin Was Completely Unexpected
David Beckham was photographed arriving at La Réserve Hotel in Paris carrying an oversized Hermès Haut à Courroies bag, a piece notable for its unusually large size. First introduced in 1892, the design was originally created to transport equestrian equipment, making its appearance as modern travel luggage an unexpected choice.
The bag which was crafted with brown leather and palladium hardware, is a variation of the Haut à Courroies design; it’s larger than standard Birkin bags commonly seen in celebrity wardrobes, making it a perfect choice to use as a carryall.

Beckham paired the bag with a denim jacket from Loro Piana’s Fall 2024 menswear collection. The indigo button-up jacket featured two large pockets at each side and a stand collar, styled with matching slim-fitting jeans. The muted color palette emphasized the oversized Hermès bag, making it the central focus of the entire look.

The appearance occurred during Paris Couture Week, where fashion presentations and runway debuts were the main focus. Unlike the busy runway events surrounding him, Beckham’s outfit was simple but stylish.

By carrying the large Hermès bag as part of a casual yet polished look, shows how men’s fashion is expanding, where luxury accessories are worn with greater flexibility and used beyond their original purpose.
