Kendall Jenner Brings Back the 2016 Adidas Superstar
Kendall Jenner was photographed in Los Angeles in a pair of classic shell-toe sneakers, the choice redirected attention to a design that defined mid-2010s street style. She paired the sneakers with casual pieces, reintroducing the black-and-white Superstar from Adidas.
Originally introduced in 1969, the Superstar was widely worn around 2015–2016, when minimalist sneaker styling dominated celebrity casual dressing. Jenner’s style reflects that same period neutral layers, casual tailoring, and clean proportions pointing showing the continued presence of simpler sneaker styling after several seasons of bulkier shapes.

Her styling keeps the focus on familiar wardrobe staples, allowing the recognizable shell toe and stripe detailing to hold the outfit. This mirrors current street-style trends, where archival sportswear remains visible in current street style.
Retro sneaker cycles are often driven by visibility rather than formal relaunches, and Jenner’s consistent casual look continues to influence casual styling trends. While recent seasons have largely centered on Samba variations across celebrity street style, her look redirects focus to another heritage design that previously defined everyday dressing.

Recent sightings of the Superstar reflect the continued use of classic everyday pieces. With celebrity styling still influencing casual fashion, the mid-2010s sneaker reference is appearing more frequently.
Who would have thought flats could be worn on the red carpet, especially ones that are barely there. Margaret Qualley just proved that they can by wearing a pair of unconventional Chanel shoes to the London premiere of her upcoming movie, The Dog Stars, on August 20.

The unusual footwear featured only a heel cap, with two ankle straps wrapped around Qualley’s feet and the Chanel logo placed on the back. The design left most of her feet exposed, showing off her freshly painted black toenails. The actress paired the shoes with a black Chanel V-neck dress covered in circle-shaped fringe.

The shoes first appeared on the runway during Chanel’s Cruise 2027 show in Biarritz on April 28. Designed by Matthieu Blazy, the unusual footwear was one of the more talked-about pieces from the collection. According to Chanel, these particular shoes were designed to almost “look like jewelry,” but were never made available on the Chanel website.
The actress has been a longtime ambassador for the French fashion house and walked in its shows in 2021 and 2024. She also wore a head-to-toe Chanel look for her 2023 wedding to Jack Antonoff, from whom she separated in July.

Qualley was joined on the red carpet by her The Dog Stars co-star Jacob Elordi. The film is an adaptation of Peter Heller’s 2012 novel of the same name and follows Hig, a young pilot living in a post-apocalyptic world after a flu wipes out most of the population. A mysterious radio transmission eventually pushes him to leave his isolated home in search of hope and other survivors.
The film is directed by Ridley Scott and written by Mark L. Smith. Other stars include Josh Brolin, Allison Janney, Guy Pearce and Benedict Wong, while the dog actor Rak Jasper also appeared at the premiere. The Dog Stars is set to hit theaters on August 28.
Kim Kardashian is giving fans another glimpse into her relationship with Lewis Hamilton. The reality star recently shared a carousel of photos from a family getaway in Hawaii, where the couple were seen enjoying everything from sunset to mirror selfie and surfing with both families.

Kardashian captioned the post “Somewhere over the rainbow,” and it led with the couple walking arm in arm along the beach as the sun set behind them. Hamilton wore black swim trunks, while Kardashian chose a shimmering lime-green swimsuit cover-up.
Another photo included a mirror selfie, where Hamilton stood behind Kim with one hand placed around her waist in a grey shirt and bucket hat, while she posed in a pink Gucci bikini top layered with a matching long-sleeve bolero, oversized sunglasses and a pink bandana. In a separate video shared in the same carousel, the reality star revealed the rest of the outfit, which included a pair of baggy white mesh shorts.

Other pictures from Kardashian’s post showed her spending time with family members, including her sister, Khloé Kardashian. Kim’s children also appeared as the family enjoyed time at the beach.

Hamilton also shared his own collection of photos from the getaway. In one image, the Formula 1 driver was seen shirtless in black swim trunks, a black baseball cap and sunglasses while wrapping his arms around Kardashian, who wore a pink string bikini top paired with a yellow-and-orange wrap skirt decorated with sparkling details. His post also included snaps from game nights with friends, beach walks, surfing adventures and several scenic views of the island.
Kardashian and Hamilton first sparked dating rumors earlier this year after they were spotted together in Paris. Since then, the couple have continued to support each other publicly. In June, Kardashian attended the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, where Hamilton addressed their relationship. “It’s amazing to have her come this weekend and have the support,” he said during a press conference.

Their Hawaii getaway comes just weeks after a source told Entertainment Tonight that the relationship had become increasingly serious, adding that Hamilton sees a future with Kardashian.
Dua Lipa was spotted at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport carrying a Chanel bag large enough to replace the usual airport carry-on.
The singer was photographed at JFK on Thursday, August 13, wearing a casual outfit that includes a black-and-white striped quarter-zip sweater, straight-leg blue jeans and black boots. She accessorised with angular sunglasses, simple hoop earrings and wired headphones.

Her Chanel bag was the standout piece. The oversized basket bag is made from raffia and features nautical navy, white and red stripes, sturdy black leather straps and large black interlocking Chanel Cs on the side.
The bag comes from Chanel’s Cruise 2027 collection, which was presented in Biarritz in April. The collection drew on the French Riviera and the fashion house’s seaside heritage, with the show featuring beach-inspired pieces and accessories including seashell jewellery, oversized straw baskets and swim caps.
Lipa’s bag appeared as Look 25 on the Chanel runway. For the show, it was paired with a loose linen buttoned tunic and matching shorts with multicoloured panels, finished with black-and-white striped glove heels.

The oversized accessory fits naturally into the singer’s recent holiday wardrobe, which has included Chanel looks alongside prairie dresses from Helsa and Dôen, peasant tops worn with bandanas, Tom Ford-era Gucci pieces, and bikinis from Oresee and Jacquemus. She has also spent time in Ibiza, Athens, Copenhagen, Rio and Italy this summer, including a trip around Italy with her husband, Callum Turner.
Lipa has since shifted some of her attention back to music. She has been spending time in New York recording new material at Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village, while also being spotted around the city, including riding Citi Bikes across the Brooklyn Bridge.
Her recent New York appearances have also included the premiere of One Night Only, the romantic comedy starring Turner, at the beginning of August. Before that, she attended the World Cup Finals in New Jersey, where she was photographed carrying another large Chanel bag.
