Joe Manganiello has spoken openly about the  health crisis he endured during his marriage to Sofía Vergara. He refused to hug him and ridiculed him over his dog while he was seriously ill.

The 49-year-old actor details the experience in his upcoming memoir, Bloodlines, which is scheduled for release on October 13. Manganiello and Vergara announced their separation in 2023, and their divorce was finalized in 2024. He has now provided an account of what happened.

“I can’t believe I’m alive, “[Manganiello said. He also described autoimmune conditions as a dumping ground for things [doctors] don’t understand. 

Manganiello says his health problems began shortly after his marriage to Vergara . It started with severe abdominal pain and developed into fevers, rashes, headaches, digestive ulcers and rectal bleeding. He went through several colonoscopies.

According to an excerpt from the memoir, Manganiello reached a point where he believed he could die. During one serious hospital stay, he experienced intense pain and later learned that his intestine was close to rupturing. Doctors performed emergency surgery, and Vergara was consulted about the procedure. She approved the removal of his large intestine, leaving him with an ostomy bag.

The actor says the physical suffering was accompanied by a painful breakdown in his marriage. Manganiello writes that the relationship had become emotionally empty. He also says he experienced suicidal thoughts and that his dog, Bubbles, helped him through that period. 

“I had to give my gun away because I kept thinking about it, and then the dog came,” he says, claiming that he adopted Bubbles while struggling with suicidal ideation. “I went from being the patient to the caretaker.”

Caring for the sick puppy gave him another responsibility during a period when he was struggling with his own health.

Vergara had previously said their marriage ended partly because Manganiello wanted children while she did not want to become an older mother. Manganiello has disputed that explanation, saying his health problems changed his perspective on parenthood.

After unsuccessful IVF attempts and discussions about using an egg donor, he says he became afraid that he could die and leave Vergara raising a child who was not biologically hers.

Manganiello says doctors treated him for suspected conditions including Crohn’s disease and colitis, but the treatments did not work. His search for answers took him into alternative treatments  that he believes helped him recover.

He has undergone reconstructive surgery and says he is now symptom-free and off medication.Vergara and her representatives had not commented on Manganiello’s latest claims at the time of the reports.

Keri Russell brought her 13-year-old daughter, Willa Lou Deary, along to Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris on October 6, giving the teenager a chance to attend the fashion event alongside her mother.

The actress and her daughter arrived in distinctly different looks for the occasion. Russell wore a crisp white blouse with a high collar and structured detailing, styled with a black mini skirt and pointed-toe pumps. She completed the outfit with a brown Louis Vuitton handbag featuring the brand’s signature monogram and a gold chain, along with matching gold stud earrings.

Willa opted for a head-to-toe pink look for the occasion. The teenager wore a textured tweed jacket with a matching mini skirt, paired with a red Louis Vuitton handbag and black pointed-toe heels with a nude strap. She wore her hair in a slicked-back ponytail.

Willa is Russell’s daughter with her former husband, Shane Deary. The couple also share 19-year-old son River, while Russell has a 10-year-old son, Sam, with her partner Matthew Rhys.

Russell has occasionally spoken about her relationship with Willa, including during a 2023 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. At the time, she recalled introducing her daughter to Felicity, the series that made her a household name in the late 1990s.

The family has remained largely private, although Russell and Rhys have offered occasional glimpses into their home life. At the 2026 Emmy Awards, Rhys revealed that their children had even turned awards season into a friendly competition, placing bets on which parent would take home a win.

While Russell and Rhys both received recognition during the ceremony, it was Rhys who had the bigger night, taking home two acting awards. Rhys described Russell as “the class act” when praising how she treats her fellow nominees during awards season. He also said she is “always really the winner.”

At Louis Vuitton, however, the spotlight was shared between Russell and her teenage daughter, marking Willa’s first public appearance alongside her mother at a major fashion event.

Mia Goth has filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf, beginning the legal process of ending their marriage after years of breakups, reconciliations and the birth of their daughter.

Goth, 32, filed a petition for dissolution of marriage in Los Angeles County on October 6, 2026. In the filing, she cited irreconcilable differences and listed July 28, 2025, as the date the couple separated.

Goth is seeking primary legal and physical custody of the couple’s 4-year-old daughter, Isabel. The petition also addresses visitation for LaBeouf. Goth has asked the court to deny spousal support to both parties.

The filing follows a relationship that began more than a decade ago. Goth and LaBeouf met while working on Nymphomaniac: Vol. II in 2012 and began dating soon afterward. They married in Las Vegas in October 2016, although the legal status of the ceremony was initially unclear. LaBeouf later confirmed that they had married.

The couple announced their separation and plans to divorce in 2018. They later reunited, with Goth and LaBeouf appearing together again in 2020. Their daughter was born in 2022.

The latest separation became public earlier this year. LaBeouf later relocated from Los Angeles to New Orleans. In February 2026, he acknowledged the separation and spoke about their efforts to co-parent their daughter.

LaBeouf has also faced legal trouble since the separation. In February, he was arrested in New Orleans following an altercation during Mardi Gras. He later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery charges and was sentenced to probation, along with requirements that included alcohol rehabilitation and anger-management classes.

Goth has appeared in several major film projects in recent years, including Frankenstein, The Odyssey and the X trilogy. She is also set to appear in Star Wars: Starfighter.

The filing makes custody of their daughter one of the issues before the court. Goth’s petition states that the couple’s separate and community property, assets and debts have not yet been fully determined.
