Carys Douglas Revives Her Mother’s Iconic Lace Dress at the PAC NYC Gala

Published

Carys Zeta Douglas joined her father, Michael Douglas, at the Icons of Culture Gala held at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York City in late November 2025. Michael, who serves on the center’s board, attended the event with his 22-year-old daughter.

The young star opted for a striking black lace slip dress once worn by her mother, Catherine Zeta-Jones, to the 2005 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The gown’s sheer lace overlay and figure-skimming silhouette made it instantly recognizable to longtime fans of Zeta-Jones.

In an interview with People, the Brown University graduate shared the reason behind her choice. “I love vintage clothes. I’m not into fast fashion; I like to reuse, restyle, and borrow from my mom’s closet,” she explained. Sustainability, she added, plays a major role in her wardrobe decisions.

The gala, hosted by PAC NYC, honored figures whose work has shaped contemporary culture. Designer Diane von Furstenberg was among this year’s honorees, and the night featured a mix of live performances and tributes celebrating creativity across generations.

On the red carpet, Carys and her father posed for photographers, drawing attention for their effortless family charm. Her vintage gown, nearly two decades old, became one of the evening’s most talked-about looks, not only for its elegance but also for its meaningful nod to her mother’s legacy.

After earning her degree in Film and International Relations, the younger Douglas has shown growing interest in the performing arts. Earlier this year, she told People that she hopes to explore both acting and theater production, blending her academic background with her creative roots.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, who married in 2000, share two children: Carys and Dylan. Though the family occasionally steps into the spotlight for public events, they tend to maintain a relatively private life.

At the PAC NYC gala, the moment carried an added layer of nostalgia. Nearly twenty years after Catherine Zeta-Jones turned heads in the same lace gown, her daughter reintroduced it to the red carpet with her own confident, modern twist, a quiet tribute to timeless style and the enduring bond between generations.

Kate Middleton Steps Out in Forest Green for St. Patrick’s Day

Kate Middleton marked St. Patrick’s Day on Tuesday, March 17, joining the Irish Guards for their annual parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot. Embracing her role as honorary Colonel of the regiment, she combined ceremonial duty with a celebration of the holiday.

Kate wore a calf-length forest-green Alexander McQueen coat, paired with a matching fascinator featuring bow detailing. She offset the green with a black statement belt, black heeled boots, and black gloves, while her brunette hair was styled in an elaborate updo. Her accessories included Asprey London diamond-and-emerald earrings, perfectly complementing the green motif, and her makeup featured a classic smoky eye with pink lips, keeping the focus on her ceremonial appearance.

She has a long history with St. Patrick’s Day events, having attended alongside Prince William since her first March 17 as a member of the royal family in 2012. She officially became Colonel of the Irish Guards in 2022. After missing the 2024 parade due to cancer treatment, she returned in 2025 to attend solo, and continued the tradition again on Tuesday.

Following tradition, Kate presented sprigs of shamrock to the officers and guardsmen and took time to pet the regiment’s mascot, an Irish Wolfhound named Seamus. As part of her duties, she will take the royal salute, award long service and good conduct medals, meet members of the Regimental Association and the “Mini Micks,” junior cadets from Northern Ireland, and conclude the day at the Sergeants’ Mess, where she often participates in a toast with Guinness.

Kate has described being Colonel of the Irish Guards as “a great honor”, and in a 2023 speech at the parade, she said she was “here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do this is a responsibility I do not take lightly.”

Move Over Sneakers: How Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber Elevated Jeans With Heels

Published

Jeans are the staple of everyday wardrobes, but recent celebrity appearances suggest that how you finish them particularly with footwear and outerwear can change the overall look. Two of fashion’s prominent fashion figure, Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber, recently demonstrated distinct ways to elevate denim instead of wearing sneakers.

For a pre‑Academy Awards dinner hosted by W magazine Editor in Chief Sara Moonves and Dior Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, Hailey Bieber wore straight-leg jeans paired with a Dior Bar jacket and heel. The iconic cropped tailoring of the jacket created structure above the jeans. The choice of black heels gave the outfit a different look from a typical daytime style: the heels height and open silhouette created a cleaner line between the jeans and the foot. This combination offered a clear example of how a classic jacket and simple heels can reposition straight‑leg denim for an evening setting where a clean look feels appropriate.

Bella Hadid’s recent West Hollywood appearance where she honored her late friend and designer Virgil Abloh provided another interpretation of how neutral pieces and statement shoes can elevate jeans. Hadid wore a white boatneck long‑sleeve top underneath a 1987 Alaïa leather jacket with trompe l’oeil corset detailing, paired with straight‑leg blue jeans and a black Loewe Amazona bag. The standout element of the outfit was her leopard‑print peep‑toe heels, which contrasted with neutral tones of her outfit and lifted the jeans beyond casual wear.

What connects these two outfits isn’t casual dressing alone, but the deliberate choices in structure and finish. Bieber’s tailored Dior Bar jacket, a piece with historical significance in women’s tailoring, added crisp structure to balance the simplicity of straight denim. The black heels gave the lower half a purposeful finish, while Hadid’s mix of neutral staples with printed heels brought life to a simple jeans look, even with familiar basics.

These examples show how small changes wearing heels instead of sneakers or adding a structured jacket can transform the same wardrobe staple in different ways. Hadid’s heels add a patterned detail, while Bieber’s heels and tailoring give an evening-ready polish. In both cases, denim stays central, but the finishing pieces create a sense of occasion.

In today’s fashion coverage, this kind of style choice shows how footwear and outerwear can elevate everyday pieces, rather than relying on casual staples like sneakers. Whether it’s a dinner event or a tribute appearance, these outfits demonstrate that the impact of jeans on an overall look is shaped as much by what they’re paired with.

Dakota Johnson appears topless in the Spring 2026 campaign from Calvin Klein, joining the brand’s history of minimal underwear and denim campaigns. Photographed and directed by Gordon von Steiner, the images show Johnson in interior settings that keep attention on denim and underwear from the latest collection. In several images, Johnson wears only jeans or black underwear, with her hair or carefully placed objects covering her chest.

One photograph shows her seated on a grand piano in loose-cut denim, her hair falling forward across her chest. Another frame captures her reclining near a pool, a book resting across her torso. Elsewhere, she appears in straight jeans and in others wearing black underwear pieces from the brand’s Ultralight line.

The campaign continues Calvin Klein’s signature campaign style: minimal styling, loose-fit denim shapes, and close shots that focus on the body and fabric. The collection includes ’90s-inspired jeans alongside lightweight underwear designed for everyday wear.

Johnson’s campaign marks her first with Calvin Klein. In campaign materials, she said the shoot focused on comfort.
Captioned over the images, one quote simply reads: “She’s so… wild.”

Speaking about the brand partnership with ELLE, she was asked what made her say yes to the collaboration, saying:

“Working with Calvin at this moment feels very symbiotic with where I am currently in my life… I’m at a place in my womanhood where I feel quite calm and centered. I spend a lot of time at home, I feel very comfortable in my body… Doing the denim and underwear campaign in the tone of very laid-back sensuality felt like it’s just a sort of truth of where I’m at right now.”

On how she sees sexiness evolve with age, she went on:

“I think the sexiest clothing items are the ones that make you feel good in your body… Feeling good in clothes changes your energy and physicality. Sometimes being in a big ratty T-shirt is the sexiest thing in the world…”

Dakota has previously shared that her self-care routine is central to how she feels and looks, with rest and baths playing a key role in maintaining her well-being.
