The Best Dressed at the Emmy Awards 2025

Amongst our top dressed for the 77th Emmy 2025 Awards held on Sunday. Zuri Hall, Lisa and Sydney Sweeney

The red carpet at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards produced its own share of stories, with actors, musicians, and hosts choosing looks that said as much about their place in the industry as the roles they play on screen. Rather than simple pageantry, the night unfolded as a kind of visual conversation between designers and artists.

Selena Gomez – Hollywood Reporter

Selena Gomez stepped out in a custom red Louis Vuitton gown that balanced simplicity with presence. The halter neckline and flowing train elongated her shape, while Tiffany jewelry gave the look a clean final touch. Known for Only Murders in the Building, Gomez has shifted her red-carpet style toward quiet confidence, and this gown fit neatly into that chapter of her career.

Jena Ortega- Getty images

Jenna Ortega approached the carpet differently. In Givenchy by Sarah Burton, she paid homage to Isabella Rossellini’s iconic look in Death Becomes Her. The embellished, near-nude top set against a pared-back skirt was deliberate in its reference, folding costume play into high fashion. Ortega, who rose to prominence with Wednesday, has often threaded gothic and theatrical notes into her style, and this homage felt like another carefully chosen step.

Hunter Schafer- Hollywood Reporter

Hunter Schafer’s Alexander McQueen gown was architectural, with sharp lines and a sculpted halter that emphasized her natural grace. The Euphoria star has consistently leaned toward modern, slightly experimental shapes on the carpet, and this look backed it, structured enough to hold attention, yet simple enough not to distract.

LISA- Getty images

LISA, of BLACKPINK, embraced fantasy in a pink Lever Couture creation. Layers of tulle and a daring slit gave her gown a storybook quality, as if motion itself was part of the design. Making her acting debut in The White Lotus this year, she used the Emmys carpet as a stage in its own right, combining her pop star persona with her new role in television.

Zuri Hall- The Gazette

Zuri Hall went for a wet-like effect in a sculpted gown by Elio Abou Fayssal. The wet-look fabric caught the flash of cameras in a way that made the dress seem to shift between textile and water. As a host and presenter, Hall has built a career on holding attention, and this gown achieved exactly that without excess ornament.

Gwendoline Christie- Hollywood Reporter

Gwendoline Christie offered a counterpoint to the sea of gowns in a tailored pink Tom Ford suit. Her statuesque frame gave the suit prestige, while the choice of color softened the lines into something playful yet commanding. Christie, familiar to audiences from Game of Thrones has always embraced scale in her fashion, and this ensemble was a continuation of that philosophy.

Megahann Fahy- Instagram People

Meghann Fahy chose a plunging velvet dress that channeled classic Hollywood glamour with a contemporary edge. The neckline and slit emphasized drama, while the velvet gave the gown depth under the lights. Known for her roles in The White Lotus and more recently Sirens, Fahy’s style choices have grown bolder, and this look reflected that evolution.

Pedro Pascal- Page Six

Pedro Pascal kept to his own rhythm in an all-white suit by Céline. Paired with sunglasses and sneakers, the ensemble read as polished but never stiff, in line with the relaxed charisma that has marked his recent turns in The Last of Us and The Mandalorian.

Sydney Sweeney - Page Six

Sydney Sweeney- Page Six

Sydney Sweeney chose a strapless Oscar de la Renta gown in a saturated red, complemented with diamonds that played into a deliberately Old Hollywood mood. Her choice spoke to a performer aware of her growing profile, offering a look that was timeless enough to photograph beautifully while still making her stand out in a night crowded with statement dresses.

Together, these appearances shaped a carpet that felt less like a competition for spectacle and more like a series of individual conversations between actors, designers, and the characters they inhabit. From Gomez’s understated glamour to Ortega’s cinematic reference, from Christie’s bold tailoring to Lisa’s fairytale gown, the night’s fashion captured the varied ways performers choose to define themselves in front of the cameras.

The Big Winners at the 2025 Emmy Awards

Published

on

77th Emmy Awards- Getty images

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards brought a mix of triumphs, surprises, and heartfelt firsts to Los Angeles’s Peacock Theater on Sunday night. The evening was alive with energy as television’s biggest names gathered, but the stories that unfolded went far beyond the glitter of the stage.

Jean Smart- Getty images

Apple TV+’s The Studio emerged as the highlight of the night, leading the comedy categories in a way few shows have ever done. In its debut season, it collected an astonishing thirteen trophies, setting a new record for the most Emmy wins by a comedy in a single year. Seth Rogen led the charge with victories as lead actor, writer, and director, sealing his status not only as the face of the series but as the creative force behind it. For longtime Emmy favorite Jean Smart, the night added another chapter to her remarkable run as she took home her fourth award for Hacks, while co-star Hannah Einbinder earned her first. Jeff Hiller’s win for Somebody Somewhere added a note of surprise, proving the comedy field is still full of unpredictability.

Noah Wyle- Getty images

In the drama categories, The Pitt claimed the biggest prize of the night by taking home outstanding drama series. Its victory was an upset over front- runners like Severance and The White Lotus, signaling that television audiences and critics are still open to being swayed by the intimacy of a well-executed medical drama. Noah Wyle, whose career spans decades, finally received his first Emmy with a win for lead actor in a drama. His acceptance speech reflected the relief of a veteran who had long been respected but never rewarded in this way. Katherine LaNasa added to the momentum by capturing supporting actress in a drama, a result that surprised many given the stiff competition. Though Severance entered the night with the most nominations, it left with only a handful of acting awards for Britt Lower and Tramell Tillman, showing that anticipation does not always translate into dominance.

Owen Cooper-Getty images

Another standout of the evening was Netflix’s Adolescence, which pushed the boundaries of what a limited series could be. Every episode was filmed in a single continuous take, a daring choice that was rewarded with six Emmys, including outstanding limited series. Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty collected acting awards for their performances, but the night truly belonged to Owen Cooper, who at just fifteen years old became the youngest male Emmy winner in history. His emotional reaction on stage was one of the defining moments of the ceremony, a reminder of how quickly the industry can be reshaped by new talent. Cristin Milioti’s win for The Penguin further highlighted the strength of anthology storytelling, giving the limited series category a particularly strong showing this year.

Beyond scripted television, the awards honored other corners of the industry that continue to thrive. The Traitors took home reality competition, while Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert dominated their respective variety and talk categories. These consistent winners showed that while new dramas and comedies may come and go, some formats continue to hold their ground year after year.

The night will be remembered less for predictable victories and more for the moments that carried real weight. Owen Cooper making history at fifteen, Noah Wyle finally hearing his name called after decades of work, and The Studio rewriting comedy’s record books gave the ceremony its pulse. Unexpected wins from performers like Katherine LaNasa and Jeff Hiller only added to the sense that the Emmys are never fully scripted, no matter how many odds-makers try to predict them.

In the end, the 2025 Emmys told a story about where television stands today. Bold experiments are being rewarded, young performers are stepping into the spotlight, and veteran actors are receiving long-overdue recognition. It was a night that reminded audiences why television remains one of the most dynamic storytelling mediums—and why, even after seventy-seven years, the Emmys can still surprise us.

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards held at New York’s UBS Arena was a night full of memorable performances from artists such as Tate McRae who first took the stage and opened the show by performing her hit “Revolving Door,” which is nominated for Best Editing, Mariah Carey earned the Vanguard Award and also Sabrina Carpenter took home best Album of the Year. Many musicians were handed various awards for different categories from Video of the year to Artist of the year and many more. Of course we can’t miss Ariana Grande, the star of the night who was the biggest winner, winning three awards including the Video of the Year Award.

But before we continue to dive deeper into the night, let’s take a look at what the red carpet offered. It was full of bold fashion choices, like Olandria Carthen’s heart-shaped red corset dress with the fabric following gently behind her to the dramatic moments of Doja Cat’s chewing on her lipstick after applying it on the red carpet or Tyler who embraced the no-pants rule rocking a Vintage Chanel. This is the VMAs we’re looking at here, what do you expect? It delivered plenty of unpredictable moments. Ahead are our top best dressed of the night.

Tyla’s Revamped Vintage Chanel

After being nominated for two awards, Tyla walked down the red carpet wearing a 1993 vintage Chanel top as a dress. The 23-year old SouthAfrican Afro-beat singer wore the designer piece swapping pants for black briefs underneath, and Chanel logo for a thin chain on her waist that dropped with a gold medallion. The beige corset top had a black embroidery with the perfect tailoring. She outdid herself by reworking the piece originally worn as a top by the supermodel Claudia Schiffer during the Spring/Summer 1993 runway.

Aside from the length of the dress, another detail that drew attention was her accessories, she stacked up gold Pandora pieces. From her neckline to her wrist, the singer layered several sizes of jewelries.

She also wore a gold anklet that complemented her black pointed heels. Her full outfit was designed with stylist Ron Hartleben.

Sabrina Carpenter in Valentino

The star who is nominated for eight awards, including Best Pop Artist and Video of the Year swapped her signature short corseted minidress to a floor-length fitted red gown designed by Valentino and diamond Tiffany & Co. jewelry. The customized lace gown was adorned with sequins placed in floral embellishments.

She carried a pink maribu-feathered boa,  wore her hair in her usual blonde waves gently falling on her shoulders and kept her makeup neatly glammed, giving her a classic Hollywood-inspired look.

Doja Cat in Balmain

Whenever Doja steps into a red carpet, we expect nothing less than drama. She arrived in a blue and yellow Balmain mini dress with a plunged neckline, slightly off-shoulder that had pink crystal embellishments.

She accessorized with sapphire and diamond bold earrings from Chopard, yellow platform heels that stole the spotlight and a $5,995 Judith Leiber Couture lipstick clutch from which she pulled out a red lipstick and reapplied it on the red carpet.

The 29-year old singer was nominated this year for Song of the Summer for “Jealous Type,”  and won the best K-pop for “Born Again,” her collaboration with Lisa and Raye.

Ariana Grande Fendi’s polka dot

Our most iconic winner of the night first stepped onto the red carpet wearing a strapless Black and white polka-dot Fendi gown, with voluminous pale pink peplum styled by Law Roach. It was inspired by a dress worn by Silvia Venturini in the 1980s.

She wore her hair in her signature ponytail, adorned with a bow made from the same fabric as her dress.

Later that evening, Grande changed into three other dresses for the occasion.

Ciara in Schiaparelli

Seems like almost everyone has a touch of red, Ciara stepped into the red carpet looking hot in a red oversized bomber jacket minidress, by Schiaparelli. The hybrid set had large silver zippers matching her jewelry, and an excess fabric that fell at one side giving the outfit a less daring finish.

Her hair was tied back neatly in a sleek bun and her makeup was nothing short of glamorous. She completed the look with an invisible looking pointy toe heels.

Summer Walker in a Bermuda capris

Walker paid homage to one of the most iconic red carpet moments with a look inspired by Pamela Anderson’s 1999 VMAs look.

She arrived in a white corset paired with body-hugging crystal-embellished Bermuda capris, trading Anderson’s original pink ensemble to a fluffy blue hat. Accessorized with a diamond necklace and an open-toe heels that tied the look together.

Sombr in a black ensemble

How can we finish off this list without mentioning Sombr. The singer and songwriter was nominated for The Best New Artist and won Best Alternative. He wore a black Valentino suit that had intricate floral patterns on the sleeves and above the mid-section tailored to perfection.
