D’Angelo, whose real name was Michael Eugene Archer, died at the age of 51 following a private battle with pancreatic cancer. According to his family’s statement, he passed on October 14, 2025, having spent months in the hospital and two weeks in hospice care.

Born on February 11, 1974, in Richmond, Virginia, D’Angelo grew up in a devout Pentecostal household; he began playing piano as a toddler and later performed at local venues and church.  He first broke through in 1991, competing (and winning) at Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater.  His first album, Brown Sugar, came out in 1995 and made him famous. His second album, Voodoo, came out in 2000 and solidified his indie-soul status. He won many Grammy Awards for songs like “Untitled (How Does It Feel?)”.

D’Angelo’s career was marked by long periods of withdrawal from the public eye, despite his artistic achievement. These withdrawals were typically linked to his battles with addiction, body image, and the pressures of celebrity. In 2014, after many years of silence, he returned with Black Messiah, receiving critical praise and a Grammy win.  In recent times he was reportedly working on a fourth album in collaboration with Raphael Saadiq before his illness overtook him.

The family’s statement described him as “the shining star of our family” whose light has dimmed in this life, but whose musical legacy remains.  Pleading for privacy during this time and calling fans to mourn with them while celebrating D’Angelo’s artistry.

Tributes have flooded in from across the music world: DJ Premier, who worked with him on “Devil’s Pie,” lamented the loss and saluted his talent.  Artists like Jill Scott, Tyler the Creator, Missy Elliot, and Jennifer Hudson , among others, have publicly expressed grief and honored his influence.  D’Angelo leaves behind three children Michael, Imani, and Morocco, and a body of work that has inspired successive generations of singers and musicians.

The world of soul, R&B, and neo-soul music has lost a great artist, but the strength and emotion of his songs will live on.

Zendaya and Tom Holland Are Married, Stylist Law Roach Claims

Published

At the Actors Awards red carpet in March 1, Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, dropped a statement that sparked widespread media attention. “The wedding has already happened you missed it.” Though playful in delivery, his confirmation prompted intense speculation online, marking the first hint that the Hollywood couple may have quietly tied the knot. Neither Zendaya nor Tom Holland has publicly confirmed the news, making Roach’s comment the only available insight into one of Hollywood’s most private relationships.

Their romance, though now widely reported began quietly in 2016 on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, where Zendaya played MJ and Holland starred as Peter Parker. From the start, both were careful to present themselves as close friends rather than co-stars turned lovers. Over the years, fans observed their rapport and interactions during interviews and press tours, but the pair avoided letting media speculation define their relationship

It wasn’t until 2021 that their romance was publicly confirmed. A candid photograph of the pair sharing a kiss in Los Angeles confirmed the relationship that had been widely speculated. From that point, Zendaya and Holland allowed only selective glimpses into their life together quite social media posts, joint appearances at premieres, and private acknowledgments that revealed aspects of their relationship. Their approach to fame has always emphasized protecting their relationship, an approach they discussed in interviews. Holland has described keeping their life together “sacred as possible,” while Zendaya framed privacy as a tool for preserving peace and authenticity rather than secrecy.

In early 2025, the couple’s engagement became public when Zendaya appeared on the Golden Globes red carpet wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. Reports confirmed that Holland had proposed in late 2024, in a private proposal attended by close family/friends. Later that year, Holland quietly reinforced the engagement, correcting a reporter who referred to Zendaya as his “girlfriend” by calling her his fiancée, acknowledged her as his fiancée.

Throughout 2025 and into 2026, rumours of a wedding circulated, fueled in part by comments from Law Roach, who hinted that if the couple married, it would be a private affair shared only with close friends and family. Roach’s Actors Awards revelation now supports this speculation, suggesting the couple may have chosen to wed discreetly, consistent with their long-standing preference for privacy.

On Monday, February 23, at 6:41 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a Hollywood Hills home after a friend requested a welfare check, after not hearing from her for over 24 hours, LAPD sources told the Investigative unit of NBC4 Los Angeles. Officers found a note on the door and discovered Short inside the home; she died by suicide, authorities said.

She had lived in the Hollywood Hills neighbourhood for around six years, one of her neighbours told the Daily Mail, “Katherine mostly kept to herself. She had been struggling with a physical illness. She must have been in so much anguish to have done this. It’s just so sad.”
