Paris Hilton Brings Back Vivienne Westwood’s Most Famous Platforms at Paris Fashion Week

Published

on

On Saturday, Paris Hilton delivered a bit of fashion history to Paris Fashion Week by wearing a pair of Vivienne Westwood platforms inspired by the brand’s renowned 1993 Super-Elevated designs. Built on a substantial block platform with a steeply arched sole, the shoes had the sculptural height and corseted lacing that once made Westwood’s Gillies a runway icon.

The mix of cream and ice-gray suede and leather in Hilton’s design lent her voluminous green gown a vintage silhouette, while the cutout panels, crisscross ties, and wraparound platform brought back the dramatic elevation that defined Westwood’s provocative legacy.

The drama didn’t end with her shoe, it was present in her feather-trimmed, lavender-and-green gown, which was made on a panniered skirt. A diamond collar, white gloves, and cat-eye glasses connected it to Westwood’s distinctive blend of punk edge and couture polish.

Throughout her career, Hilton, who has always favoured maximalist statements, has returned to Westwood’s style, from platform-heavy performance outfits to corseted shapes on the red carpet. Her return to the brand in Paris comes after a summer filled with equally daring shoe moments, such as Gianvito Rossi’s fitting suede boots at Tribeca and rhinestone Stuart Weitzman thigh-highs at WeHo Pride.

The reference point was clear. In 1993, Naomi Campbell’s iconic fall during Westwood’s runway show made the Super-Elevated Gillies a symbol of fashion bravery. Campbell later joked that the nine-inch heels “tested her balance and pride,” and Westwood famously described the stumble as “beautiful, like a gazelle.” The occasion helped to solidify the British designer’s reputation for challenging convention and reinventing femininity via danger.

Hilton’s public character has always combined self-parody and elegance, so the nod feels deliberate,  a link between two generations of women who mastered spectacle on their own terms. Whereas Campbell’s moment caught the danger of fashion, Hilton’s reinterpretation embraces its longevity, the notion that style history can be humorous, self-aware, and towering in every way.

Hailey Bieber Wears Custom Ferragamo Crystal-Embellished Minidress
Hailey Bieber stepped out in a custom Ferragamo crystal-embellished minidress on October 13 for a dinner celebrating her collaboration with activewear brand Adanola.

The champagne-beige dress featured a halter neckline, a fitted silhouette and an open back. The design was crafted from washed silk covered with a net embellished entirely with crystals, giving the short dress its all-over sparkle.

Ferragamo creative director Maximilian Davis created the custom piece in collaboration with Bieber and her stylist, Dani Michelle. Michelle acknowledged Davis on Instagram, thanking him for bringing their vision for the look to life.
Bieber kept her accessories simple, wearing diamond drop hoop earrings by Jessica McCormack. The earrings featured east-west oval-shaped stones that complemented her wedding ring.

Her hair was styled in a clean, pulled-back bun by hairstylist Irinel de León, leaving the halter neckline and crystal detailing fully visible. She also wore a luminous body finish that may have come from Rhode’s liquid Luminizer.

The appearance followed Bieber’s recent preference for gold-toned eveningwear. During Paris Fashion Week, she hosted a Rhode party in a vintage Saint Laurent minidress featuring a babydoll silhouette. She paired that look with loose, shoulder-length waves, opting for a different silhouette and hairstyle for the Adanola celebration.

Unlike the vintage Saint Laurent design, Bieber’s Ferragamo dress was made specifically for the occasion. Its crystal-covered netting, washed-silk base and halter neckline defined the look, while the diamond earrings completed the ensemble without competing with the embellishments.

Daisy Edgar-Jones Elevates the Graphic Tee Trend

Graphic tees are getting another look this autumn, and Daisy Edgar-Jones just showed  how to style them in two different ways. The actress was spotted twice on the streets of New York City on Monday, October 12, wearing two vintage bird-themed T-shirts from Stella McCartney’s Spring 1999 collection for Chloé. Instead of pairing them with the familiar jeans and casual footwear, she styled them with pieces that gave each look a feminine feel.

For her first look, Edgar-Jones wore a white baseball-style T-shirt with three-quarter-length navy sleeves and an airbrushed eagle image across the front. The blue tones in the bird illustration blended with the sleeves, while the rest of the shirt remained white. She paired it with light blue silk shorts trimmed with lace along the hem, giving them a lingerie-inspired look. Instead of the usual casual footwear often paired with graphic tees, she wore white pointed-toe heels.

Later that day, Edgar-Jones changed into another T-shirt from the same collection. This version had a light pink base with an airbrushed hummingbird appearing to feed from a flower. The image included shades of chartreuse, which complemented the yellow leather trousers she paired with the top. She added heeled sandals with yellow-toned soles, matching the footwear with her outfit.

Both outfits were styled by Dani Michelle as Edgar-Jones promotes the upcoming film Sense and Sensibility, in which she plays Elinor Dashwood. The new adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel is scheduled to arrive in U.S theatre on October 16.

Kim Kardashian arrived at F1 Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday, October 10, to support her boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton. The reality star was seen at the Marina Bay Street Circuit during the Formula One weekend, where Hamilton was competing for Ferrari. For the occasion, Kardashian went with a monochrome pink look.

Her outfit from Alaïa’s Spring 2024 collection, featured a high-neck halter leotard with a built-in, sheer floor-length skirt. The fitted bodysuit-style base contrasted with the flowing material of the skirt, which fell loosely around her legs.

Kardashian carried a matching pink Hermès Kelly bag made from crocodile-embossed leather. The small handbag featured silver Chrome Hearts chain detailing, adding a metallic touch to the pink accessory. She also wore silver open-toe shoes. Her black hair was pulled back into a neat bun, keeping it away from her face and leaving the high neckline of the dress visible.

This was Kardashian’s second Formula One appearance with Hamilton since their relationship began in February. She first joined him at the Monaco Grand Prix in June, bringing her sister Khloé Kardashian along for the trip. During the weekend, she wore several Gucci looks, including a shimmering dress, a black leather jacket and an asymmetrical draped gown.
