For an artist whose catalogue has shaped three decades of hip-hop, a milestone concert was always going to carry a sense of nostalgia. Yet when Jay-Z opened his anniversary concert series at New York’s Yankee Stadium on Friday night, it was the unexpected appearances from Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Carter that transformed the celebration into one of the weekend’s defining entertainment moments.

The performance celebrated the enduring legacy of Reasonable Doubt, the landmark 1996 album that launched Jay-Z’s career, while revisiting the catalogue that has defined three decades of hip-hop. Before an audience of approximately 45,000 fans, the rapper delivered a performance designed to honour the music rather than overwhelm it with spectacle. The production went with a minimalist aesthetic, placing the focus squarely on the songs that built one of hip-hop’s most influential catalogues.

The evening’s first major surprise arrived during “Can’t Knock the Hustle.” Originally recorded with Mary J. Blige, the classic took on new life as Beyoncé made her entrance in a tailored pinstripe look paired with capri pants as she performed the featured vocals on “Can’t Knock the Hustle,”  the singer delivered her verse before Jay-Z responded with a smile and an appreciative, “Oh, she can sing.” and she told the crowd, “Give it up for my baby,” prompting a smile from Jay-Z.

If Beyoncé’s appearance celebrated one of music’s most enduring creative partnerships, Blue Ivy’s performance showed another chapter in the Carter family’s evolving story.
The 14-year-old joined her father during “Feelin’ It,” performing the song’s piano solo with growing assurance before receiving an emotional embrace from Jay-Z, who praised his daughter on stage. It was a brief moment, but one that resonated deeply with fans who have watched Blue Ivy steadily become more comfortable in front of live audiences.

Her appearance also continued a journey that has unfolded over the past several years. Blue Ivy first captured global attention as a performer during Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour before taking on a larger role throughout the Cowboy Carter Tour, where her confidence and stage presence earned praise from fans and critics alike. Jay-Z has previously revealed that his eldest daughter possesses perfect pitch, teaches herself piano by ear and prefers learning independently rather than taking formal lessons.

While the family’s appearances became defining moments of the evening, the concert itself showed Jay-Z’s philosophy that the music should remain the focus. Rather than relying on elaborate staging, the production featured a clean, simple set built around a massive screen displaying imagery from different stages of his career.

Strong demand for tickets prompted the addition of a third Yankee Stadium show, highlighting the continued appeal of Jay-Z’s live performances. with overwhelming demand prompting the addition of a third Yankee Stadium show. By the end of the night, the anniversary concert had become more than a celebration of Jay-Z’s musical legacy. With Beyoncé lending her unmistakable vocals and Blue Ivy continuing her evolution as a performer, the evening offered a rare glimpse of a family sharing not just the spotlight, but a legacy that continues to evolve across generations.

Simone Ashley has sparked romance speculation after being spotted holding hands with Jay Jammal during a casual outing in London.

The Bridgerton actress was photographed with Jammal in Notting Hill on Sunday, August 23, as the pair walked through the neighbourhood with dogs. Their relaxed afternoon outing included the two holding hands as they made their way around West London, prompting interest in the identity of the man accompanying Ashley.

Jammal has been identified as a Senior Account Executive at Soho Communications, where he works across the luxury and hospitality sector. He joined the London-based agency in 2023 after moving from Denver, Colorado, and studied Strategic Communications at the University of Colorado Boulder. His professional background includes work with brands and organisations across hospitality, luxury, recruitment and communications.

Jammal keeps his Instagram account private, although Ashley currently follows him. His professional life is considerably more public, with his work at Soho Communications placing him within London’s luxury communications scene.

The outing has naturally raised questions about whether Ashley has a new relationship, particularly given the pair’s decision to hold hands in public. However, there has been no confirmation from either Ashley or Jammal about the nature of their relationship or how long they have known each other.

Ashley has previously been linked to businessman Tim Sykes after the pair were photographed kissing at the US Open last summer. Before that, she was in a relationship with Tino Klein, with the actress later confirming that they had gone their separate ways.

For now, Ashley and Jammal’s London outing is all that has been publicly established. The photographs show two people spending an afternoon together and holding hands, but neither has publicly described the relationship as romantic.

Meghan Markle Is Set to Return to Acting

Published

on

Meghan Markle is preparing to return to acting with a major project based in the U.K., nearly a decade after she left Suits. The project has not been officially announced, but Markle has reportedly been offered the role, which is said to be one of several factors behind her and Prince Harry’s decision to return to Britain with their children later this month.

The development comes as she and Harry prepare for an extended stay in the U.K. with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. The family has spent the past six years living in California after relocating there in 2020 following their decision to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family.

While details of Meghan’s new project have not been publicly disclosed, she is in talks to join the third season of Netflix’s The Gentlemen. The discussions are still at an early stage, and no contract has been finalized. The series’ second season is scheduled to premiere on September 3, while a third season is expected to be announced soon, although Netflix has not yet formally confirmed it. Although, Meghan’s role is still being written, so it is not yet clear how many episodes she would appear in.

The series, created by Guy Ritchie as a television spin-off of his 2019 film of the same name, is filmed in the U.K. and set in England. It follows Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James, after he unexpectedly inherits his family’s estate and discovers that it is connected to a large cannabis operation. The current cast includes James, Kaya Scodelario and Giancarlo Esposito.

The role would mark Meghan’s most significant acting project since she left Suits. She played Rachel Zane on the legal drama and filmed her final episodes in late 2017, ahead of her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. At the time, she said she was leaving acting to begin a new chapter.

Meghan returned to the screen in 2025, filming a cameo as herself in Amazon MGM’s Close Personal Friends, alongside Lily Collins and Jack Quaid. In 2025, She was first photographed on the Pasadena set in November 2025. And a source described her as relaxed and happy while filming, adding that she introduced herself to those on set and was friendly with the crew.

The appearance followed Meghan’s 2022 comments that she was “done” with acting.

Meghan also has an established relationship with Netflix. She and Harry signed a deal with the streamer in 2020 through their production company, Archewell Productions, covering documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted programming and children’s content. In 2025, the couple announced an extension of their creative partnership through a multi-year first-look agreement covering film and television projects.

Their work with Netflix has included the 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan, which became one of the platform’s most-watched documentary debuts, as well as Live to Lead, Heart of Invictus and Polo. Meghan also fronted the lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which ran for two seasons and included a holiday episode.

The development comes alongside the Sussexes’ plans to establish a longer-term base in Britain. The family is expected to return to the U.K. later this month, with Archie and Lilibet enrolled in school there from September. The move is not understood to be permanent. Meghan and Harry will retain their Montecito, California, home, while Meghan’s businesses and projects, including As Ever, Archewell Productions and Archewell Philanthropies, will continue to operate from the United States.

Harry is also expected to maintain his charitable commitments on both sides of the Atlantic, including preparations for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. Meghan’s acting opportunity, Harry’s commitments and the children’s education all helped determine the timing of the family’s return.

The move will give Harry and Meghan their first base in Britain since they gave up the lease on Frogmore Cottage in 2023. The Windsor property had been made available to them by the late Queen Elizabeth II, and Harry’s father, King Charles, subsequently asked them to leave following the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare.

King Charles was informed of the family’s plans on August 16, and is understood to welcome the opportunity to spend more private time with his son and grandchildren. Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet visited Britain in July, when the children reunited with their grandfather for the first time in more than four years. Their visit included tea at Highgrove House and a trip to Althorp House, where Princess Diana spent much of her childhood and was buried. The family is believed to have paid their respects at Diana’s gravesite during the visit.

Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper have begun filming the untitled Ocean’s Eleven prequel in Paris, giving the first real look at the actors in the long-awaited addition to the heist franchise.

Set photos from August 18 showed Cooper and Monica Barbaro on set, while Robbie was also photographed in costume. The film, which has been in development since 2022, is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 25, 2027.

Cooper is taking on multiple roles behind and in front of the camera. He is writing, directing and starring in the film as Danny Ocean’s father, and was photographed behind the cameras. He joined the project after filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung stepped down earlier this year. Cooper was photographed on set wearing a headset, while Barbaro was seen having her hair adjusted by a member of the production crew and wearing a blue-and-white costume.

Robbie and Cooper are set to play Danny Ocean’s parents in the prequel. The story is set in the 1960s and follows Danny’s parents as they plan an elaborate heist at the Monaco Grand Prix. Robbie previously described the characters at CinemaCon as two masterminds who taught Danny everything he knows before he ever arrived in Las Vegas.

The project has been developing for several years. The film was first reported in 2022, when Robbie was attached to star and develop an original Ocean’s film set in the 1960s. Ryan Gosling was previously attached to the project before Cooper took over his role.

The current cast extends well beyond its two leads. Monica Barbaro joined the film in June, followed by Josh Gad in July. Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, Lauren Ridloff, Jack Holden and Omar Sy have also joined the cast, along with Wagner Moura. Moura will play a villain in the film.

Robbie is also producing the movie with her husband, Tom Ackerley, through their production company LuckyChap Entertainment. Behind the scenes, Michelle Graham, Gary Ross, Olivia Milch and Josey McNamara are executive producing, alongside Village Roadshow. The screenplay is written by Carrie Solomon, whose previous writing credits include the Netflix film A Family Affair, starring Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron.

The prequel is also being developed alongside a separate Ocean’s sequel involving George Clooney and members of the original cast, with production previously reported to be planned for late 2026.
