Angel Reese Earns Her Wings at the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese added a new title to her résumé this week: Victoria’s Secret Angel. The 23-year-old made her runway debut at the brand’s 2025 Fashion Show in Brooklyn, becoming the first professional athlete to ever wear the company’s iconic wings.
Reese walked in two looks during the televised event, held at Steiner Studios on October 15. Her first outfit featured pink floral lingerie with lace detailing and a soft shawl. For her second appearance, she wore a pink cropped top, matching lace bra and underwear, and white lace wings, a signature element reserved for select models in the show.

The basketball star joins a lineup that included models and public figures from a range of backgrounds, part of Victoria’s Secret’s broader rebranding effort. After pausing the show for several years amid criticism of its narrow beauty standards, the company relaunched it in 2023 with a focus on inclusivity and individuality.
Reese trained for the runway with modeling coach Alexander Aleson in the weeks leading up to the show. According to Vogue, she studied past performances from supermodels like Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell but focused on developing her own stage presence.

Her appearance drew strong reactions on social media, where fans praised her for breaking barriers in both fashion and sports. Several WNBA players, including teammates from the Chicago Sky, posted messages of support during the broadcast.
Reese’s move into fashion comes during a busy year for the athlete. She recently signed endorsement deals with Reebok and Beats by Dre and launched her own signature sneaker. Her growing profile has made her one of the most marketable players in women’s basketball.
The show also featured Olympic gymnast Suni Lee, marking the first time two elite athletes appeared in the same Victoria’s Secret production.

Victoria’s Secret executives described Reese’s participation as a reflection of the brand’s commitment to showcasing different forms of confidence and strength.
“Angel represents the modern woman. She’s competitive, driven, and authentic,” a company spokesperson said in a statement.
For Reese, the event was another example of how she’s expanding her platform beyond basketball. “I want young girls to see that you can be powerful in every space you walk into,” she said.
The 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show streamed globally on Prime Video and featured performances by Doja Cat and The Weeknd.

Her second outfit followed similar styling approach as the first and was still designed by Max Mara. She replaced her black turtleneck with a dark red, made from a wool blend and layered with a sleeveless alpaca coat in the same shade that featured long lapels and oversized pockets. Over that, she added a long coat with wide lapels and raglan sleeves. Erivo accessorized with a burgundy hat, a red leather belt, and platform boots, still keeping the silver butterfly necklace and hoop earrings from the first outfit.

A few weeks after appearing in her signature dark, Elphaba-inspired looks while promoting Wicked for Good, Cynthia Erivo took a different fashion choice at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Both of her layered, winter-ready outfits offered a season-appropriate direction and showed that even if her famous role as the Wicked Witch of the West has wrapped up, she can still give styling range fit for holiday dressing.
