Dua Lipa has been spending time in London, along with her husband, actor Callum Turner, who is reportedly among the finalists screen-testing for the next James Bond film. While the actor has been linked to the legendary role, Lipa has been busy with her own interests: books. The singer, who founded the Service95 Book Club, took her love of reading to the stage over the weekend as she hosted conversations at London’s Literature Festival.

On Saturday, October 24, Lipa joined acclaimed novelist Zadie Smith at the Royal Festival Hall to discuss Smith’s debut novel, White Teeth, including its portrayal of London and what it meant to publish such a celebrated book at the age of 24. Later that day, Lipa sat down with Sudanese-Canadian poet and musician Mustafa to discuss his 2025 poetry collection, Nour, and the poems and writers that have influenced them.

For her conversation with Smith, Lipa wore a red two-piece look from Chanel’s Fall 2026 collection. The outfit consisted of a long-sleeved top and a matching midi skirt, both with fur trim. She paired the look with black leather knee-high boots from Le Silla, featuring lace-up detailing and a 12-centimetre stiletto heel. The boots gave the red outfit a different feel from the matching set originally worn on the runway.

For her second conversation with Mustafa, Lipa changed into a look from Prada’s Fall 2026 collection. She wore a black nylon tank top and matching pencil skirt, with her bright pink bra straps visible beneath the top. She also wore sheer stockings embroidered with floral details near the ankles and white satin pumps with feather trim and lace-up detailing.

Ahead of the festival, Lipa spoke about what reading means to her, saying, “Reading has anchored me through every chapter of my life, from being the new kid at school in a new country to finding quiet refuge on tour.”

The London Literature Festival runs at the Southbank Centre through November 1, with poetry readings and author conversations. On Sunday, October 25, Lipa joined musician and writer Patti Smith for a conversation about Smith’s memoir, Bread of Angels.

Kate Middleton joined other members of the British royal family at Windsor Castle on October 20 for a state banquet honoring Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman. The Princess of Wales arrived alongside her husband, Prince William, wearing a yellow gown and a familiar royal heirloom once favored by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

The Princess of Wales chose Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara, a diamond and pearl headpiece that has become one of her most frequently worn royal accessories. The tiara features 19 diamond arches and 28 drop-shaped pearls, with the pearls suspended beneath intricate diamond knots. It was commissioned by Queen Mary from the House of Garrard in 1913 and made as a copy of a tiara once owned by Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kassel, Duchess of Cambridge.

This marked her second appearance in the tiara this year and her 16th time wearing it since marrying William in 2011. Kate paired the headpiece with a yellow gown by Elie Saab featuring a keyhole neckline, pleated skirt and flowing cape. She accessorised with a glittering Anya Hindmarch clutch, Queen Mary’s diamond choker bracelet and earrings from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection.

The Princess last wore the Lover’s Knot tiara earlier this year in March for the state banquet. On that occasion, she paired it with a green gown by Andrew Gn, a choice that reflected the colors of the Nigerian flag.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold previously said in an interview that the tiara was one of Diana’s favorite pieces, and suggested that “Kate wears this to keep her late mother-in-law’s memory alive.”

Prince William joined his wife, wearing a traditional Windsor tailcoat with his medals and royal orders. Earlier in the day, Kate had worn a forest-green Alexander McQueen coat dress and a matching hat while welcoming the Sultan during the official arrival ceremony.

Dua Lipa and her husband, Callum Turner, arrived hand in hand for a date night at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City on October 19. The couple attended the opening-night of Lincoln in the Bardo, with both opting for black outfits for the occasion. While Turner kept his look classic, Lipa brought a more detailed design to the evening.

The singer walked the red carpet alone in a black dress from Maximilian Davis’s Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2027 collection. The design started with a black bandeau held by slim straps before falling into sheer chiffon covered in round sequins. Some of the sequins reflected icy blue, while the dress continued into a long train behind her. It also had a thigh-high slit.

Lipa’s dress came with detachable sleeves. They followed the same design as the gown, with bands around her upper arms and at the cuffs. She paired the dress with black satin slides from Ferragamo and carried a matching satin bag. Her hair was tied back in a neat ponytail with a side part.

Turner kept his outfit simple beside his wife, wearing a black single-breasted suit over a white button-down shirt, paired with black Oxford shoes.

This marked Lipa’s latest opera outing. Last month, she attended the opening-night gala for La Traviatain Milan, Italy. At the Metropolitan Opera event, she spoke about what makes it special. “Opera really just touches on all our human emotions, you know, love and grief and loss and ambition and hope, all these things that make it so special.”

Lincoln in the Bardo is an opera adaptation of George Saunders’s 2017 novel of the same name, composed by Missy Mazzoli. The story follows a fictionalized Abraham Lincoln as he mourns the death of his young son, Willie. Other familiar faces at the event included Comedian Amy Poehler and Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang.
