Power and Poise: The Two Faces of Beyoncé

Beyonce turned 44 on September 4, and recently, she shared photos of her birthday look. With a grateful heart, the singer posted herself in Dolce & Gabbana look, “Thank you so much for my birthday love. I’m thankful to God for another year. Peace and Love” she said. Only hours after posting, she was seen in another dazzling outfit, this time a Roberto Cavalli gown, as she and Jay-Z attended the Reform Alliance Casino Night Gala in Atlantic City.

For her birthday photos, she wore a burgundy Dolce & Gabbana gown with corseted bodysuit details beneath sheer fabric. The ensemble was a see-through, revealing her matching bra and panties. From the knee, the dress extended into a lace hem that cascaded into a mermaid silhouette. From behind, the polka dots patterns showed her thong as she stretched to display the design. She paired the piece with lace gloves and a fuzzy coat draped off her shoulders, all in same burgundy shade. Beyoncé completed the look with loose honey blonde waves and bold makeup, including lipstick that matched the tones of her outfit.

Later that evening, Beyoncé was seen in a different outfit worn to the Reform Alliance Casino Night Gala. The event, co-hosted by Jay-Z and Michael Rubin, to support the organization’s mission in advancing probation and parole systems nationally by raising funds. With her billionaire husband, Beyoncé graced the event in a metallic gold Roberto Cavalli gown from the label’s Fall/Winter 2007 collection, sourced from the luxury archive retailer Opulent Addict and styled by Shiona Turini.

The gown featured a plunging V-neckline with intricate pleated draping, and an alluring open back. She styled it with a matching fur coat, a statement gold necklace, and tinted sun glasses, completing the glamorous outfit with a touch of vintage elegance.
The two looks tells a lot about Beyoncé fashion sense. The birthday gown was about gratitude, intimacy, self-celebration. The Cavalli gown, on the other hand, was a red-carpet-ready piece chosen for an event that demanded sophistication. Its vintage origin made a connection to fashion history and highlighting Beyoncé’s tendency to reframe archival pieces for modern audiences.

Together, these two outfits underline why Beyoncé continues to be a central figure in the fashion scene. Whether she’s turning to Dolce & Gabbana for a contemporary lace gown or Roberto Cavalli for a vintage piece, she showed us power and poise, the two sides of her persona, through the way she wore the clothes — turning fabric and design into a statement of confidence.
Awards
The Best Dressed at the Emmy Awards 2025

The red carpet at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards produced its own share of stories, with actors, musicians, and hosts choosing looks that said as much about their place in the industry as the roles they play on screen. Rather than simple pageantry, the night unfolded as a kind of visual conversation between designers and artists.

Selena Gomez – Hollywood Reporter
Selena Gomez stepped out in a custom red Louis Vuitton gown that balanced simplicity with presence. The halter neckline and flowing train elongated her shape, while Tiffany jewelry gave the look a clean final touch. Known for Only Murders in the Building, Gomez has shifted her red-carpet style toward quiet confidence, and this gown fit neatly into that chapter of her career.

Jena Ortega- Getty images
Jenna Ortega approached the carpet differently. In Givenchy by Sarah Burton, she paid homage to Isabella Rossellini’s iconic look in Death Becomes Her. The embellished, near-nude top set against a pared-back skirt was deliberate in its reference, folding costume play into high fashion. Ortega, who rose to prominence with Wednesday, has often threaded gothic and theatrical notes into her style, and this homage felt like another carefully chosen step.

Hunter Schafer- Hollywood Reporter
Hunter Schafer’s Alexander McQueen gown was architectural, with sharp lines and a sculpted halter that emphasized her natural grace. The Euphoria star has consistently leaned toward modern, slightly experimental shapes on the carpet, and this look backed it, structured enough to hold attention, yet simple enough not to distract.

LISA- Getty images
LISA, of BLACKPINK, embraced fantasy in a pink Lever Couture creation. Layers of tulle and a daring slit gave her gown a storybook quality, as if motion itself was part of the design. Making her acting debut in The White Lotus this year, she used the Emmys carpet as a stage in its own right, combining her pop star persona with her new role in television.

Zuri Hall- The Gazette
Zuri Hall went for a wet-like effect in a sculpted gown by Elio Abou Fayssal. The wet-look fabric caught the flash of cameras in a way that made the dress seem to shift between textile and water. As a host and presenter, Hall has built a career on holding attention, and this gown achieved exactly that without excess ornament.

Gwendoline Christie- Hollywood Reporter
Gwendoline Christie offered a counterpoint to the sea of gowns in a tailored pink Tom Ford suit. Her statuesque frame gave the suit prestige, while the choice of color softened the lines into something playful yet commanding. Christie, familiar to audiences from Game of Thrones has always embraced scale in her fashion, and this ensemble was a continuation of that philosophy.

Megahann Fahy- Instagram People
Meghann Fahy chose a plunging velvet dress that channeled classic Hollywood glamour with a contemporary edge. The neckline and slit emphasized drama, while the velvet gave the gown depth under the lights. Known for her roles in The White Lotus and more recently Sirens, Fahy’s style choices have grown bolder, and this look reflected that evolution.

Pedro Pascal- Page Six
Pedro Pascal kept to his own rhythm in an all-white suit by Céline. Paired with sunglasses and sneakers, the ensemble read as polished but never stiff, in line with the relaxed charisma that has marked his recent turns in The Last of Us and The Mandalorian.

Sydney Sweeney- Page Six
Sydney Sweeney chose a strapless Oscar de la Renta gown in a saturated red, complemented with diamonds that played into a deliberately Old Hollywood mood. Her choice spoke to a performer aware of her growing profile, offering a look that was timeless enough to photograph beautifully while still making her stand out in a night crowded with statement dresses.
Together, these appearances shaped a carpet that felt less like a competition for spectacle and more like a series of individual conversations between actors, designers, and the characters they inhabit. From Gomez’s understated glamour to Ortega’s cinematic reference, from Christie’s bold tailoring to Lisa’s fairytale gown, the night’s fashion captured the varied ways performers choose to define themselves in front of the cameras.

Margot Robbie in Sheer Armani Privé at UK Premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey

Margot Robbie made her return to the red carpet in a daring dress. At the UK premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, the actress who is always admired for her fashion, chose an ethereal gown from Armani Privé’s Spring 2025 couture collection—a piece that has had social media’s attention.
This is Robbie’s first major public appearance since welcoming her baby in November. The Barbie star stepped back into the spotlight looking confident and alluring.

Crafted from delicate sheer fabric, the gown was covered in crystal embellishments. The front featured fine spaghetti straps, offering a daring side reveal that flowed into a crystal-accented open back. Robbie wore a silver thong beneath, earning it attention as part of the growing ‘naked dress’ trend.

She paired the look with silver Aquazzura peep-toe heels, a pair of sparkling studs and her diamond engagement ring from husband Tom Ackerley. Her hair was styled into a high updo—described by stylists as a modern take on the ‘90s wrap bun. The makeup also contributed to the whole outfit, leaning into a glowing bronzed look with a soft peach lip. The overall effect was luminous, with shimmer and sparkle woven into every detail.

The actress walked the red carpet with a co-star, Colin Farrell. While she opted for a little to no theme, despite the London weather reading 58°F at that moment, Farrell wore a long trench coat over a black suit with a white shirt and black tie.
With A Big Bold Beautiful Journey generating buzz for its sweeping narrative and Robbie’s performance, her premiere look is part of the reason why the naked-dress trend remains a favorite on the red carpet.

Selena Gomez Wore Two Jacquemus Outfits in New York City

Selena Gomez was spotted in New York City wearing not one but two Jacquemus looks as she headed to the Rare Impact Fund event.
While both outfits leaned toward minimalism, each offered its own distinct twist on the French label’s signature style.

Photo: @Page six-Instagram
The first outfit styled by Erin Walsh, was this bold red Jacquemus Castagna knit minidress. It featured a high-neckline and voluminous elbow-length sleeves. Stopping just below her mid-thigh. The figure-hugging dress was paired with her Christian Louboutin “Hot Chick” slingback pumps in red matching the outfit, she accessorized with rectangular sunglasses, minimal jewelry allowing all the focus to be on her Abril Barret engagement ring, gently reminding us of her upcoming union to the music producer Benny Blanco.

Later that same day, the singer and actress slipped into a Jacquemus La Mini Robe Trapeze dress. The design featured an asymmetrical cut with a single sleeve and subtle folded detailing. She paired the dress with black leather mules from Black Suede Studio. Keeping the same understated jewelry from earlier, Selena styled her hair in a center part, letting her glossy brunette locks fall softly over her shoulders, highlighting her features and enhancing the outfit’s clean, modern appeal.
Both outfits were perfect for the occasion that brought her to New York. She was there to support the Rare Impact Fund, an initiative launched to expand access to mental health resources for young people. Through the fund, 1% of all sales from her cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty, goes toward mental health services.
