The 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards took place on Monday, November 2, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Often called the Oscars of American fashion, the event celebrates designers and other creatives for their contributions to the industry. Among the night’s winners was Rachel Scott of Diotima, who received the American Womenswear Designer of the Year award.

But before the ceremony began and the honors were handed out, several celebrities, designers and their muses arrived on the red carpet in looks from some of the biggest names in fashion.

Hosting this year’s event, Keke Palmer wore a vintage Bob Mackie gown previously worn by actress Raquel Welch during a performance on The Cher Show in 1975. Palmer appeared in the archival piece before taking the stage to host the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, Anja Rubik and Rosé were among the stars who wore gold pieces from Anthony Vaccarello’s latest and final collection for Saint Laurent. The designer, who recently announced his departure from the fashion house after a decade, was also named International Designer of the Year.

Elsewhere, Emily Ratajkowski kept her look classic, arriving in a simple black sweater paired with a low-rise orange skirt and black boots, all from Tory Burch. Elle Fanning, on the other hand, wore a pink slip dress beneath a floor-length leather trench coat from Coach by Stuart Vevers.

Blake Lively Makes a Blue-Sequin Entrance in New York

Blake Lively brought vintage Chanel to the New York party scene, choosing a midnight-blue sequin minidress from the fashion house’s Fall/Winter 199 collection for a jewellery launch. The actress attended the holiday event hosted by jewellery designer Brent Neale at Majorelle on the Upper East Side, where she joined friends for the evening.

Designed during Karl Lagerfeld’s tenure at Chanel, the archival minidress featured a strapless silhouette, a scalloped neckline and oversized black satin bows running down the front. Its midnight-blue sequins gave the piece a distinctive eveningwear finish, while the contrasting bows added definition to the embellished design.

Lively paired the vintage creation with a black Chanel bucket bag, bringing another piece from the French fashion house into the ensemble. She completed the look with black Christian Louboutin pumps featuring transparent panels, pointed toes and slim ankle straps. The shoes’ signature red soles added a contrasting detail to the otherwise dark accessories.

Jewellery from Brent Neale also featured in the outfit, a fitting choice for an evening celebrating the designer’s latest collection. Lively added statement earrings and rings, while her blonde hair was styled in loose, side-parted waves. Her beauty look kept to understated tones, allowing the heavily embellished dress to remain the focus.

The appearance offered another example of Lively’s interest in archival fashion. Rather than opting for a recent runway release, she chose a design from Chanel’s 1994 collection, bringing a piece from the house’s earlier fashion history into a contemporary setting.

The actress has previously worn vintage and archival designs from established fashion houses, making the Chanel minidress a continuation of an approach that frequently brings older collections back into public view.

Her New York appearance also marked a rare public outing in recent months. Before attending Neale’s launch, Lively’s last widely photographed appearance was at the FIFA World Cup final in July, where she supported Argentina.
