One of the most eye-catching pieces, the Capucines Mini Tentacle, comes in soft pink and is wrapped with sculpted octopus arms. Another, the Capucines Mini Mushroom, is covered with over 100 hand-embroidered charms shaped like mushrooms, all hand-embroidered on shiny silver fabric. There’s also the EW Dragon Bag, inspired by Murakami’s large painting Dragon in Clouds, and the Golden Garden Bag, decorated with gold-leaf leather marquetry.

Speaking about the collaboration, Murakami said he was amazed by how far Louis Vuitton’s craftsmanship has evolved. “Their artisans have reached a level of creativity and precision that even many artists can’t match,” he said.
The collection debuted at the Grand Palais in Paris, where Louis Vuitton set up an art-inspired display for the launch. The bags displayed as sculptural art piece, showing just how closely fashion and art can overlap.
