Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams Named Co-Chairs of 2026 Met Gala
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced that Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour will co-chair the 2026 Met Gala, scheduled for Monday, bringing together some of the major voices across entertainment, fashion, and sports.
This spring’s gala will celebrate the Costume Institute’s exhibition “Costume Art,” curated by Andrew Bolton. The exhibition explores the interplay between clothing and the body, tracing thematic “body types” from the Naked body to the Pregnant body and the Aging body. It will be the first show in the Met’s new Condé M. Nast Galleries, a nearly 12,000-square-foot space adjacent to the Great Hall, running from May 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027.

It’s been a decade since Beyoncé last attended the Met Gala, when she attended the 2016 Manus x Machina gala. Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams both have established a presence at the event, with Kidman having co-chaired in 2003 and 2005, and Williams making her first appearance as co-chair seven years after her sister Serena Williams held the role, Beyoncé, previously served as an honorary chair in 2013.

Alongside the co-chairs, Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz will lead the Gala Host Committee, which also includes Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, LISA, Chloe Malle, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson, and Yseult, with additional members to be announced later.

Each year, the Met Gala functions as a major fundraiser for the Costume Institute, supporting exhibitions, acquisitions, publications, and other museum operations. The 2025 Gala raised $31 million, cementing the event as a leading fundraising event in fashion culture.
Beyoncé, Kidman, and Williams’ combined influence signals an evening shaped by glamour, art, and celebrity culture, perfectly aligned with the Costume Institute’s innovative vision for “Costume Art.”
