Taylor Swift Makes an Unexpected Appearance on ‘The Late Show With Stephen
Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, Dec. 10, marking her first visit to the late-night program since 2021. Her return generated excitement among fans, especially after days of speculation about what she might be promoting ahead of a busy week of releases.

Earlier in the week, The Late Show teased her appearance with a playful Instagram announcement video featuring Stephen Colbert dancing to Swift’s song “Opalite.” The montage also included one of the most memorable moments from her last visit. The comedic bit in which she firmly, but jokingly, told Colbert that her 2008 track “Hey Stephen” was not written about him, despite his insistence.
