Ruby Rose has accused Katy Perry of sexual assault, alleging that the incident took place nearly two decades ago at a nightclub in Melbourne, Australia.
Rose made the claims in a series of posts shared on Threads on April 12, responding to an article circulating online. In one post, she wrote: “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s— what she thinks.”

She added that she was “only in my early 20s” at the time and said, “It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly.”
Reflecting on why she is speaking out now, Rose wrote: “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes.”
In another post, she claimed: “[Perry] is more than welcome to sue me (she won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people).” She further alleged that there were additional experiences over time, writing, “Plus there is so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won’t want me discussing. The psychological manipulation was strong with that one.”

In response, a representative for Perry denied the allegations in a statement, saying: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies.”
The statement continued: “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
At the time of reporting, no formal legal complaint or charges have been confirmed. The situation remains an allegation and a denial, with no verified legal outcome.
