Lily Collins Set to Play Audrey Hepburn in New Film on the Making of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”
Lily Collins has been cast to portray Audrey Hepburn in an upcoming film about the making of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The project will not revisit the original storyline. Instead, it focuses on the creative process behind the 1961 classic, drawing from Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman by Sam Wasson. The book examines how the film moved from concept to being widely recognised, including casting discussions, studio pressures, and the evolving identity of its central character.

Collins will also serve as a producer through her company Case Study Films, serving as both lead actor and producer in a project that has reportedly been in development for several years. The casting continues her steady presence in global entertainment following the success of Emily in Paris.
The film will explore the collaboration and working relationships between key figures involved in the original production. Among those expected to appear as characters are writer Truman Capote, director Blake Edwards, and costume designer Edith Head, whose work shaped the film’s costume direction.

While a director has not yet been announced, the screenplay is being developed as a character-driven retelling of how Breakfast at Tiffany’s came together during a shifting era in Hollywood.
Collins’s resemblance to Hepburn has already has drawn early audience reactions online, with early reactions focusing on the physical parallels and her background in character-led roles. Industry coverage has positioned the project within the ongoing trend of biographical storytelling that explores the making of influential films rather than retelling familiar plots.
No release date or additional casting has been announced.
