Kim Kardashian Allegedly Had a Gun Held to Her Head During Uganda Trip With Kanye West
Kim Kardashian allegedly had a gun held to her head during a 2018 trip to Uganda with her then-husband, Kanye West, according to a new biography detailing a troubling episode from their marriage.
The account appears in Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, written by journalist Jonathan Van Meter. Farnaz Farjam, a former executive producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians who accompanied the couple on their Uganda trip, shared her account of what happened for the book.

According to Farjam, the situation unfolded at a remote filming location after West became convinced that people around him were attempting to drug him. He allegedly contacted local police, who arrived with guns drawn and searched the group’s rooms.
During the encounter, an officer allegedly held a gun to Kardashian’s head. Farjam described the situation as intense and recalled arranging a private jet to evacuate members of her production crew from the location.
The producer later said she forgave West, believing his behaviour was connected to his bipolar disorder and a possible manic episode. Her account offers a glimpse into the difficulties surrounding the couple’s relationship at the time, although the details have not been independently established.

Kardashian and West married in 2014 and share four children. Their divorce was finalised in 2022. In the biography, Kardashian also discusses the challenges of co-parenting with her former husband, expressing continued concern for him while emphasising the importance of maintaining boundaries.
Van Meter did not interview West for the book, citing concerns about his mental health at the time.
The reported Uganda encounter adds to the public record of frightening experiences in Kardashian’s life. In October 2016, she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris during Fashion Week, when assailants stole millions of dollars’ worth of jewellery. The two incidents occurred under different circumstances, but both involved threats of armed violence.
