Drake’s Rep Denies He’s Father of Keshia Chanté Baby
Drake is not the father of Keshia Chanté’s baby, despite speculation that followed the Canadian singer’s pregnancy announcement.
Chanté, 38, revealed on October 6 that she is seven months pregnant with her first child. She announced the pregnancy with a maternity shoot and an interview in which she spoke about preparing for motherhood while keeping the pregnancy private.

The identity of the baby’s father has not been disclosed. Chanté did, however, say that he works in music. In her pregnancy announcement, she referred to the baby’s father as “Dada” and joked about plans for their son to release an album in summer 2027.
Those comments led some social media users to speculate that Drake was the father. The speculation was largely based on the pair’s history. Drake and Chanté dated when they were teenagers and have remained friends over the years. In 2022, Drake referred to Chanté as his “first girlfriend” while introducing her during a Toronto performance.

Drake’s representative rejected the speculation. His team said the claim was false.
Chanté has since addressed the speculation. In a follow-up interview, she confirmed that Drake is not the father and said she did not understand why the rumor had taken hold. She also described the baby’s father as someone she loves and confirmed that he is a public figure in the music industry.

Chanté is known for her work as a singer and as a former host of BET’s 106 & Park. Her pregnancy announcement comes after years in the Canadian entertainment industry.
Both Chanté and Drake have now addressed the speculation: the baby is not Drake’s.
