The latest post came shortly after the couple were spotted watching runners at the New York City Marathon.

Grande made her relationship with Alvarez Instagram official in August. She included photographs of the pair in a carousel, one of which showed them posing together in a mirror selfie. Grande wore a white off-the-shoulder top with black trousers, while Alvarez wore a white T-shirt and black trousers. The pair were also pictured holding hands.

Before making their relationship public, the pair had prompted speculation after being spotted together several times. Grande and Alvarez were first seen spending time together in Texas in June, followed by further sightings in Florida.

Alvarez joined Grande’s team as a backup dancer in 2014, and the pair began dating the following year. They dated for approximately a year before separating in 2016.

Grande later referenced their relationship in her 2018 hit Thank U, Next, singing, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.” Alvarez responded to the song’s release with an Instagram Story in which he thanked Grande and joked that the songs were good.

The former couple have since rekindled their romance. During her Eternal Sunshine Tour, Grande repeatedly changed the lyrics about Alvarez in Thank U, Next, giving fans clues about their reunion.

At her June 26 performance in Austin, Texas, she sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he still got my back.”

During her July 13 performance in Brooklyn, Grande changed the line again, singing, “We always find our way back.”

Grande also included Alvarez in a behind-the-scenes video marking the end of her tour. The footage showed him taking photographs of her during rehearsals before the pair shared a kiss at the edge of the stage.

Their reunion brings Grande and Alvarez back together more than a decade after they first met while working on her tour. Their history has also given new meaning to the lyrics Grande once wrote about their breakup, particularly her latest decision to replace the original words with a reference to making Alvarez her last.
