Alexander Skarsgård Goes Quirky in See-Through Shoes
When it comes to wearing unconventional shoes on the red carpet, Alexander Skarsgård is not afraid to try something different. The actor has made some interesting footwear choices over the years, and his latest appearance at the BFI London Film Festival on October 8 was no exception. He showed up in a pair of transparent shoes.
Designed by Saint Laurent for its Spring 2027 collection, the clear PVC shoes have a traditional lace-up Oxford shape, with a black sole and matching laces. He paired the unusual footwear with a metallic gold two-piece suit from the same fashion house.

Saint Laurent’s freelance design director of shoes, Corrado De Biase cheekily named the footwear O.Fan after OnlyFans, the popular subscription-based platform known for hosting adult content. “It was a joke between us to say, ‘I don’t understand why men are scared to show their feet,” he said in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily.
This obviously isn’t the first time Skarsgård has worn an unusual footwear to the red carpet. At the Sundance Film Festival in January, he wore studded Valentino Rockstud flip-flops with a trench coat, track jacket, tie and tailored trousers. He also wore thigh-high leather boots to the Cannes Film Festival in 2025. Speaking to W Magazine about his choice, he said, “It was my first time at Cannes and I was very excited about it. My character wears a lot of leather in the movie, so it just felt fitting to wear a little bit of leather on the carpet and to the premiere.”

Skarsgård was in London to promote Wicker, in which he plays a magical man made of wicker who marries a fisherwoman, played by Olivia Colman. The film is scheduled to arrive in select theaters on October 23.
