Lenny Kravitz Addresses Rumours He Was on Doomed Palm Beach Plane
Lenny Kravitz has addressed false reports linking him to a fatal plane crash in Florida after speculation spread online that he was among nine people killed aboard a private jet.
The 62-year-old singer’s representative, Carleen Donovan, dismissed the claims, confirming that Kravitz was not on the aircraft. Speaking to Florida news outlet BocaNewsNow, she described the reports as “untrue and incorrect”.
The rumours emerged following a Learjet 60 crash in Palm Beach County on Sunday, November 1. The aircraft was travelling from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas when it crashed in a residential area near Cresthaven Boulevard.

All nine people aboard the aircraft died. The accident also caused fires and damage in the surrounding area. Hundreds of residents from a nearby mobile home community were evacuated as authorities responded to the crash.
Kravitz was linked to the accident after screenshots of a Facebook post attributed to Florida-based pilot Emily Shelton circulated on social media. The screenshots appeared to show a post claiming Shelton was due to fly the musician from Austin to the Bahamas.
The post also reportedly mentioned playing Kravitz’s song ‘It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over’ during the flight.

When news broke that a Learjet travelling from Austin to the Bahamas had crashed, social media users began connecting the screenshot to the accident. Shelton was wrongly identified as the pilot of the aircraft, while Kravitz was subsequently assumed to have been one of its passengers.
Shelton later addressed the claims in a TikTok statement, denying any involvement in the fatal flight.
“I was recently made aware that there are rumors that I was the pilot of the recent crash in Palm Beach. I would like to respectfully clarify I was not,” she wrote.
She also asked people to stop spreading speculation about the accident and to show consideration for the victims and their families.
“My heart goes out to all those lost and affected,” she added.

The crash prompted an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration. Air traffic control recordings captured the crew reporting icing conditions and turbulence before the aircraft entered a rapid descent. Investigators have yet to establish the cause of the accident.
Among those confirmed dead was co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20, whose identity was confirmed by her family. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also acknowledged the severity of the crash as emergency crews continued responding to the incident.
